Katherine is a leading, nationally recognized expert in the design, preparation, and dissemination of legal notice in class actions and bankruptcies. She has developed and directed some of the country's largest and most complex national and international notification programs in cases involving asbestos, home siding products, infant formula, polybutylene plumbing, pharmaceuticals, securities and tobacco. Shannon Wheatman, Ph.D.

Vice President –

Dr. Wheatman specializes in designing, developing, analyzing and implementing large-scale legal notification plans. She provides testimony on the best notice practicable and is adept at finding cost-saving methods to satisfy due process. Dr. Wheatman began her class action career in 2000 at the Federal Judicial Center where she was instrumental in the development of model notices to satisfy the plain language amendment to Rule 23. Dr. Wheatman has been involved in more than 150 class actions and has been recognized as a notice expert in state and federal courts across the U.S. and in Canada. Her Ph.D. is in social psychology from the University of Georgia; she also holds a Masters in legal studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Read Shannon's Biography.

Belinda (Bulger) Macauley, Esq.

 Belinda consults with clients to design and implement notice programs that cost-effectively reach class members using notice materials written in plain, easily understood language. Belinda oversees teams of Notice Program Managers and Media Planners on cases across the firm’s practice areas, and previously personally managed several of the firm’s largest notice programs in recent years, including In re Pharmaceutical Industry Average Wholesale Price Litigation, In re International Air Transportation Surcharge Antitrust Litigation, and The Authors Guild, Inc. v. Google Inc.

 

  


Prior to joining Kinsella Media, Belinda practiced law for nearly ten years, first as a criminal prosecutor in her home state of California and later as a senior policy attorney for a national nonprofit organization in Washington, DC. Her experience also includes working for a Member of Congress and a U.S. Senator, and running a small nonprofit that provided legal services to inner-city residents of Washington, DC.

Alicia Gehring

Media Director –

Alicia manages a team of media planners who design and implement cost-effective and comprehensive paid media campaigns to reach unidentified class members. Alicia brings more than a decade’s worth of advertising agency experience to Kinsella Media, including positions with Messner Vetere Berger McNamee (now EuroRSCG) in New York, Doe-Anderson in Louisville, Kentucky, and White & Partners and LM&O in the Washington, D.C. area. At White & Partners she handled major accounts including Amtrak branding, Acela and Amtrak.com. At LM&O she managed the media department and oversaw all accounts, including the National Guard, Chevy Chase Bank and the Washington Metro Authority. Alicia is a 1996 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in Communications/Advertising.

Maureen Gorman

Senior Media Analyst –

Maureen has more than 30 years’ experience in media buying and planning. She has held high management positions in the media departments at BBDO Worldwide and Bayer Bess Vanderwarker, as well as positions in media research sales and marketing at Nielsen. She personally directed national spot broadcast buying for accounts such as Dodge, Ameritech, US West, Wrigley and Quaker. In addition to her work at Kinsella Media, Maureen conducts professional training seminars in media planning and buying throughout the country as a Senior Instructor for the Media Buying Academy.

Kristen Stallings

Senior Project and Operations Manager –

Kristen has been an integral part of the Kinsella Media team since September 2003, serving in both operational and project capacities. In her current role, she works directly with clients to design and implement notice programs in a wide variety of class actions, including high-profile consumer and antitrust cases. She also oversees internal firm operations including accounting and IT systems. Kristen is a 2001 graduate of James Madison University with a degree in communications.

John Hight

Systems and Design Administration –

John specializes in publication notice layout and design and administration for our clients' websites. Prior to joining Kinsella Media in 1998, John spent eight years as a computer graphics specialist at The Kamber Group, where he produced and administered websites, designed and programmed interactive CD-ROM presentations and information kiosks, and provided digital pre-press support. He also served as a systems manager for the U.S. Department of State in U.S. embassy posts overseas, earning a Meritorious Honor Award at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.
